Crafting

Joining Nicole for Keep Calm Craft On.

fiona's frog prince skirt

nuala's foxy pants

nuala's new pants
I have had a hard time finding time to craft. A neighbor dropped of a sweet bonnet for Nuala, and suddenly I was inspired. I can not sew as well as her, BUT I can get a little something done. Over the past week or so I have made 3 of the Lazy day skirts from Oliver and S, and I tried my hand at making Nuala a new pair of pants. I followed the tips in Soulemama's book The Creative Family. Can I say I feel soooo accomplished. I've made clothing! Woohoo! I'm going to try and eeek out a bit of time every week to work on a little something on the sewing machine. Probably more easy stuff like that for awhile, it is rewarding to start and finish a project so quickly, and they are so darn CUTE!

Wow look at your little one standing up! Sewing is something I always want to make time for but don't always achieve it. I definitely go in spurts!

I really love the skirt, very cute. Your little one is pretty cute too.:) May I ask - where did you get your woven rug from? I've been looking at them for a bit and can't seem to find one that I like.

They look great! Sewing gives a great sense of accomplishment as, compared to knitting, it is so fast! I try to mix the two up.

You sew beautifully. I bought a sewing machine with the intension of sewing all my clothing, sadly I can't sew so I guess it's a good thing I can knit ;)
