The Library and more apples

Once again we are making plans to visit the library weekly. Monday seemed like the best day, as we are all fresh off the weekend and ready for a new adventure. Sagan, Cae and Rowan all got library cards (I can not believe we hadn't done this already), filled their bags with books , and figured out the self check out.
Later in the evening I peeled many, many apples and the boys cut them up. We decided to try our hand at apple butter (I used about 3/4 cup honey instead of all the sugar). Hopefully when we wake up Tuesday morning the crockpot will be filled with the yumminess that is apple butter. I might even have to make homemade biscuits tomorrow for breakfast.

Sunday sunset on Tempe Town lake

We decided to take an evening walk along Tempe Town lake on Sunday. What a lovely way to wrap up a week or maybe start the new one. We talked about maybe making it a weekly thing, a sunset stroll and possibly a picnic. Watching the kids run around in the finally cooling temperatures was just refreshing and revitalizing. Yes, maybe fall is coming to Arizona. I heard that maybe, just maybe we might even get below 80 degrees once this week. Might have to pull out the hoodies. If you are wondering what the boys are doing in the first photograph... they had spelled out the word "PLAY". Yes, that is about right.

Fiona Rose

I was without my own camera when Fiona was born, so I thought I would post a few pictures of her from birth until now. She is such a blessing. You would think that after 6 children it wouldn't be so amazing any more, but every single day is just awe inspiring.

A Birthday Moment...

September 30, 2001. Such an amazing day. The day that Sagan was born. Such a bright light, a questioning soul, a beautiful being. I feel so blessed everyday that he came to us. Happy Birthday my sweet boy.

A trip to Sabino Canyon

While down in southern Arizona to go apple picking, the kids and I decided we needed a bit of Tucson time. We met up with some friends at Sabino Canyon and spent the day playing in the beautiful canyon in the rust colored waters. I think everyone has a handful of places that feed their soul and make them feel connected and whole. Sabino Canyon is one of those places for me. We had a fabulous time despite the heat, we even ventured a bit of a hike down the trail. Nothing beats a day in nature with the kids and dear friends.

Apple Picking

The little boys, Fiona and I went down to Catalina (near Tucson) to go apple picking with some of our friends. Feeling like we need a bit of fall, even if the tempatures here are still over 100 degrees. You never saw so many apples picked so quickly. I think all told the group picked almost 200lbs of apples. We came home with a nice 31lbs. So far I have made three apple pies and we are planning on making apple sauce this weekend and maybe a few caramel apples too.

Coming back...

After a long hiatus from my blog, I have decided that maybe I need to come back here. It fed my soul and encouraged me to share what wonderful things my family has been up too. So... we are back. <3
