~ I am oh so grateful that Logan is home and doing so well after his Nuss procedure
~ For my friends who brought dinner over and watched the kids so we could be at the hospital for the better part of the week
~ For Audrey and my Dad who stayed the night at the hospital so Mike could go to class and I could be home with the littles and so that there was someone there with Logan
~ To the wonderful surgeon who did the surgery
~to the pain team who kept Logan's pain well managed
~ To the kids for working together so well to make this a relatively easy week, I know it was a challenge
~ for Trader Joe's Caribbean Popsicle, they are about the only thing I can stomach these days
~ for ice cold water, another thing that feels good on my tummy
~ naps, wonderful wonderful naps

My son also had surgery for pectus excavatum. He was seven when he had it and now he is 23, so his surgery involved opening his entire chest cavity and breaking every bone in his chest and rebuilding the chest with the bones the right way. It was quite an ordeal for him. Very painful, initially, but kids heal quickly. Now he has a beautiful, buff chest with nothing but a scar going from one arm pit to the other. That is probably TMI, but it was very interesting to read about this NUSS procedure, which apparently is much less invasive than the way my son's surgery was done back in 1997. Wishing you all health and healing!
So pleased that all went well, praying for continued recovery and an ease in the morning sickness for you.

@Debbie: yes it is really amazing. he has three small scars, it was pretty much done laparoscopically. he will have to have another procedure in three years to remove the bars, but apparently it is easy and out patient. it is amazing how different his chest looks, and how differently he stands too.
I'm glad that the surgery went well ... Good recovery to Logan!
