Happy Birthday

Ahhhh, 12, that strange age... not quite a teen, and yet no longer a "little kid". By dear Sagan turns 12 today. He has been looking forward to this year for awhile... because NEXT year he will be officially a teenager.
So strange, that rush to grow up when you are young. So much in a hurry to reach that next year, to be older, feel more in control of your own life, no longer tied down to parental rules. And yet, now that I am grown, what I wouldn't give to be younger again, and slow it all down and have time to just play and not worry about so many things all the time.
My hope for my dear boy who is in such a hurry to grow up, is a slow, lazy, fun year of discovery, adventures, dirt, bike rides, movie watching, hanging out at the park, pancake breakfasts on Sundays, "bro time" with Logan in the evenings, and still being cuddled occasionally by your mama.
Happy Birthday Sagan.

mornings

These last few mornings have been heavenly. Windows open, breeze blowing, time outside in the morning sunshine. So energizing and beautiful. Now to tackle that mountain of laundry to be folded.

knitting madness

finished socks

baby sweater vest

sweater for fiona
I have been super knitty lately. Although it is easy peasy to get all knitty when you knit for little people. I must admit I am an instant gratification girl. I finished up sock two and am very happy with how they turned out. Now they must lay in wait until December... poor things.
I started and finished Felipe baby sweater vest using Noro silk garden in, I believe, rainbow. It turned out so sweet, but Noro is a bit scratchy, which is weird since it is silk, wool and bamboo... usually that combo is heavenly. I loved this pattern so much I am casting on another as we speak, using Brambleberry worsted in "paprika" which should be lovely.
And over the weekend I knitted Fiona up a "Bitty Bump" usually this is done in a super bulky yarn, but I used a bulky weight and did the size 4T. It seems to just fit her right now, hopefully she won't grow too much between now and when we have weather cool enough for her to want to wear it. I used my most lovely Wooly Moss Root buttons they look like butterscotch candies to me.
I really should start on a few more of my holiday knits, BUT man, oh man, baby knits are so much fun. Maybe I need to knit one holiday knit and then reward myself with a baby knit? That seems like a great idea. LOL
