Daydreams

In between cleaning and organizing the craft/game area in the laundry room and resting my poor broken toe I have been daydreaming of this...

I think it would look very amazing in the dining room right where the blue hutch is. Just the place for me to craft and get the lovely daylight and be in the same room as the kids who like to draw, and craft and game all day long.
What happens to the hutch you say... well it is currently just a play station for the kids. It could be moved into the living room when the drums are moved into the music room (which use to be Audrey's bedroom). I am feeling like maybe the whole living room could use a mix up anyway. I love being able to move things around. And as we clean out spaces and down size our stuff we make room for new and improved awesomeness... like the craft space for me!!!

I think this Ikea portable kitchen island would be PERFECT! Don't you think?? and a tube or two of this awesome stain. They used the emerald green, which is nice, but I do like the blue. Although this stain has an even cooler blue. I love the "island water"color. Sooo nice and cool looking.
Maybe this will be a birthday gift to myself, I mean you only turn 40 once right?

Weekend

I am sorry about the below picture, it is just slightly horrifying, not just because my toe is all whack and sideways but because my toenails are all yucky and need to be painted again. Sorry about that.

my whack toe
In the midst of tearing the house apart room by room and filling the car with boxes, bags, and heaping piles of stuff to go to Goodwill, along with many things and stuffs going to friends and to freecycle I smacked my toe into Fiona's heel and broke my toe. I know, how on earth do you break a toe on an 18 month old babies heel? Well, I don't know, but I did. DO you see how the skin was all twisted?? Horrifying.

I did this Saturday afternoon. Today, Sunday, I have had to slow down, and it is driving me nuts. I have to point out all the things that need to be done, I have to keep myself from doing all of them and allow others to do them for me and deal with the weird and/or s-l-o-w way they do them. I feel as if I am going to lose my ever loving mind. I am the sort of person who just does stuff. I don't really like waiting for others to do things because, well, they take to dang long to do it! I do the lion's share of the house work, 90% of the shopping and all of the cooking. It is just easier for me to do it all. It hurts too much right now to drive, so I am stuck. Stuck here trying not to go nuts, and it has only been one day. I have 4-6 more weeks of this, well maybe not 4 whole weeks, maybe just one good week of rest and then easy going for the next three. But still... but still.

I was sitting in my room after cleaning out the desk (I can do that because I am just sitting on a chair with my foot up), and I started crying. How am I going to NOT do stuff for 4 weeks? There is a never ending list of things and stuffs to do here, stuff that needs to be done ever single day to keep the house running even in a half-ass sort of way. Like the laundry, the cooking and baking, the picking up, the dishes, the cleaning of the bathrooms, etc, etc, etc. I am sure everyone has this sort of list, this constant "to-do" list that is what keeps the house running smoothly.

I figure I can keep on with the cleaning out of things in the kitchen, pantry, and craft/game cupboard because I can do it in fits and starts and do a great majority of it with my foot on a chair. I am also working on patching up the very cool chair we have, but has slowly been dying of fabric rot. I was inspired by Soulemama's chair. I think it will be lovely when it is all done. I had to hand sew a cover for the seat cushion. At some point I will get it professionally decovered, but for now... it will give me something to do while my toe knits itself back together.

Yarn Along

I am making great progress on the sweater, I am super excited about it. I have had to learn two new stitches... doing a cable cast on and knitting front and back. It has been really fun. At the moment I am having to tink the second sleave as I got a bit carried away and wasn't paying attention to how long I was making it, it was suppose to be 8 inches and it was 9 1/2 inches. LOL, oh well.
I am thinking about making Fiona a hat to go with it, I was toying with this one, I have knit it before and it is easy and fun.
I haven't been reading much of anything, when I am not knitting I am purging the house of things and stuffs. It feels so good, almost as good as the knitting!

Belated birthday wishes

audrey jane just a day or so old

and here she is at 18
It was pointed out to me that I had failed to post about Audrey's 18th birthday.... that happened almost a month ago! eeeep! What a bad mama. SO much was going on, that it sort of slipped my mind. Hard to believe, but true.
Can it be that my dear, sweet Audrey Jane is now 18? You know how when after you have a baby and everyone is like... it goes so quickly. Well, it does. It is true. 100% crazy, true. When did it happen? When did she go from being my sweet little girl to being a woman? Sometimes the days seem so long and yet the years just fly by. In just a few short weeks she will be off to college (thankfully she wanted to stay in the state), she will be doing her own thing... away from me. I am so proud of her, she is such an amazing person. I love her (because you do as a mother) but I also like her. She is funny, and sharp as a tack, and loving and well she just is awesome. Is that too much? I don't think so.
Happy, Happy, Belated Birthday wish. I love you my sweet Audrey Jane.
