knits and reads

Joining Ginny from Small Things for Yarn Along and Nicole from Frontier Dreams for KCCO.

I finished up the baby blanket and I LOVE IT! It is so soft and cuddly, and it has a great drape, it should be wonderful for wrapping the baby up in.
I started (again) the Shalom sweater after I talked with a friend about which type of M1 would be best. And it is coming along really nicely. I have until the 21st to finish it and I am on the third set of "cable" type pattern stuff around the yolk, so I feel pretty good about getting it done in time. The camera just does not do justice to the yarn color, it is a really lovely icy blue, it just sort of looks gray in the pictures.
I am also reading "A Christmas Carol" for the first time. It is really good. I haven't read any Dicken's since high school. It is a bummer how school can turn you off from some stuff. I might make it a holiday habit, such a great reminder.

Can't wait to see your Shalom! Mine is still one of my favorite knits.

And the rainbow blanket - LOVE! I have been wanting to knit one but it just hasn't made it to the top of the list yet.

That is such a beautiful baby blanket! I love it. A Christmas Carol is such a great week - quick and easy and such a wonderful Christmas message. I teach high school English and I so agree with you that teachers often have kids read things in school that make them hate reading. So sad. Have a good week and stay warm in this cold snap we are having.

I love your avatar! Did you design it? That Quince and Co yarn is great, isn't it? The colors are excellent. And you can do it (according to your avatar, right): You're, right - once the yoke is done that Shalom will just fly off of the needles.

What a gorgeous blanket. I love my shalom and would love to knit another. Don't you just hate it when you can't get a picture that is the right colour!
