Yarn Along

First, I just want to give a HUGE thank you to Donna for the yarn...see those blue striped socks? They are completed because she so kindly sent me the left overs of her Felici Splash. I can not tell you how happy I was to get that yarn in the mail, it was like a miracle. I hopped right on them and finished up the one last toe... knitted gift #3 done!!

The pink socks are coming along, it is a super easy pattern and a quick knit with the aran weight yarn and size 5 needles, but I just can't seem to find the time everyday to knit more than a few rows. I was hoping to be done with them in a week, I am only on the foot of sock one. Hopefully this coming weekend I will have more time, until then it is one row at a time!

Joining Ginny for the weekly Yarn Along!

Your socks are beautiful! I love the colorway!! Socks are one of my favorite things to knit!!!
Thanks for commenting on my blog about my yarn drama. I'm leaning toward your suggestion. It's not usually hard for me to choose, but this one kinda locked me up!

The socks came out great! I'm so happy I had enough for you to finish them. I just love those colors. I really wish Knit Picks would keep making that yarn!

You knit so beautifully. Is that sock pattern easy? do you do the magic loop or DPNs. I'm attempting to knit socks for all my children (8 of them) for Christmas- this goal may be too big for me but I'm trying. I'm new to sock making and so I'm a bit slow.

Cheryl S: i think it is a pretty easy pattern. i do dpn, i have yet to figure out the magic loop! lol
it is from tincan knits their lumberjack sock pattern. it is $5 but totally worth it imho. i have made at least a dozen pairs of socks with that pattern. they also have a free pattern for socks of all sizes in their learn to knit 8 patterns. that is the one i am using for the pink socks :)

Thank you for the reply. I will definitely look up tincan knits. I'm looking for easy sock patterns as I have so many to make and so many different sizes too. I just started making a pair with the magic loop and for all the raves about the method- I kind of prefer dpns. I've got to get farther along before I make a final judgement for my next pair. Happy knitting!

I've always wanted to learn how to knit socks. My mother-in-law knits them for my children right now, and their 'Omi socks' are their favorites.
