Joining Ginny from Small Things for the weekly Yarn Along...
There is the whole heap of yarny goodness, poking itself out of my knitting basket.
My mom asked me to knit a shawl for a coworkers birthday. We went to Tempe Yarn and Fiber so she could pick out a skein or two of nice yarn. We ended up getting the same brand that I used to make my Autumn shawl , but this colorway was in the cooler shades. It is coming along beautifully, I am using size 15 needles and it is turning out nice and lacy, it is amazing to me that just needle size can make such an amazing difference. I love the way this one is coming out a lot better then the way the autumn shawl turned out. I might just frog the autumn shawl and re-knit it with the 15's. (OK, after I get all my holiday knitting done.)
Here is the evil Tometn jacket. LOL At this point it is just a big, blue rectangle. I am going to have to put it on hold until either my friend gets home OR I finish my holiday knitting.
I haven't cast them on yet, but this is the yarn I am going to use to make my oldest son his fingerless gloves. It is so cool looking when it knits up, I am really excited about this project. Actually I am pretty excited about all of my holiday knitting projects.
I cast on the sweater vest (pattern from More Last Minute Knitted Gifts) I am making for Caelan. I have been toying with maybe adding a bit of white in there. Maybe every 10 rows or so doing 2-3 rows of white. I think it would be very striking, plus the blue will just be amazing next to his lovely blue eyes.
I have watched "The Halloween Tree" movie (Leonard Nimoy does one of the voice, how cool is that??) every Halloween since it came out, but had never actually read the book. While at the library I saw they had a copy and picked it up. Ray Bradbury is such an amazing author. I am really enjoying this book, I look forward to reading it each night.
